did you vote?

I woke up a tad bit early this morning and headed out to the polls. I am fortunate that I have a job where I don't start 'til 10am. I was very pleased to show up and see not a single person before me in line....nice stuff. I anticipated a small line but was left with nada. I had a little extra time this morning and had read on a fellow blog that Starbucks was giving free Indivisible bracelets from the Create Jobs for USA today; so I thought I would check it out.
I ordered by Grande Coffee Frapp (yummers) and sure enough I received a free $5 Indivisible bracelet. November 2nd marked their 1 year anniversary for Create Jobs for USA with 15 million dollars raised, "This achievement is, in large part, a testament to the generosity of our customers", with approximately 5,000 jobs created or sustained (Starbucks Article). Pretty remarkable, right?

How do you vote? Early ballot or visiting your polling place? The majority of people I know personally do the early ballot...I don't know I like to visit my polling place. It makes me feel like I am apart of something bigger than me. I earn my little sticker and wear it proudly throughout the day.

My mom instilled in us while growing up how important it is to vote, to have a voice. Both my sister and I have been voting as soon as we turned 18. Women of the past made this privilege and now our right a reality and I feel like I am honoring them by doing so. Thank you ladies! It wasn't for nothing ;)

  1. Good for you! I'm not only glad to know that you're voting and trying to make a difference (sometimes even a little difference really matters), but that you enjoying it! And, you undoubtedly will pass on the importance of your civic duty to your little ones.
